Why hasn’t my Galaxy S8 received Oreo yet? How to fix this

Galaxy-S8

After a long wait, users of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus finally started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo in February 2018, but this was for the unlocked global variant. Those in the U.S. and other markets had to wait until the end of March before Oreo arrived on their S8 sets.

Interestingly, as of this writing, we are still receiving queries regarding Samsung Galaxy S8 Oreo update release date, meaning that close to four months since the first S8 unit got Oreo, some users of the phone have yet to receive the new OS. As much as we’d like to make it sound strange, it isn’t. Software updates can take weeks or, in this case, months before all units in question actually receive the download notification. Since it’s Samsung we are talking about, a company that has millions of S8 and S8 Plus units to update across the globe, this delay is sometimes inevitable.

While waiting is always the best, hassle-free path to take, it doesn’t usually work out well for some, especially after waiting for months just to get a taste of the new dessert. On the brighter side, we have download links to the Oreo-based firmware files that can be manually installed on your Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus and thus skip the wait.

Yes, rather than wait, you can grab the Oreo firmware for your device via the links below, but make sure the model number and software version corresponds.
