Xiaomi Mi Note 2 MIUI 10 update
Expected release date: September 2018 (stable)
Being a 2016 handset, the Mi Note 2 came preinstalled with Android Marshmallow based on MIUI 8 and later the device was updated to MIUI 9. Well, now that MIUI 10 is here, all eyes are on Xiaomi as Mi Note 2 fans are eager to know when they’ll get this new software.
We have some answers for you. Apparently, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will get the new MIUI 10 somewhere in September. This will be the stable version of the software, but a beta version should be out any time before then.

As pointed out earlier, the Mi Note 2 came preinstalled with Android Marshmallow. The device has since received two major OS upgrades in Android Nougat and Android Oreo, but the latter is still in beta. When exactly the stable version will be released is still unknown, but it should happen in Q3 2018.
After Oreo, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have reached its limit as far as major OS updates are concerned. This means that no official Android P update will arrive on the phone, but given how active the Xiaomi development community is, you won’t be short of custom ROMs that are not only based on Android P, but also the other version (s) to come after P.
