How to Root Your Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM G900F)(Exynos)(International) Quick and Easy

Samsung Galaxy S5 India and Exynos Variant Rooting guide

Things required:

1. Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F
2. A windows pc
3. Software and CWM file
4. Data cable
5. A bit of time and patience

Step 1

Determine your Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F. First, make sure you have either International exynos G900F model which is available in India.

Step 2

Download required file after determing the model number

• CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f.zip

Step 3

Download software and drivers from below

Download appropriate CWM or TWRP recovery for your Note 3 (Make sure you download the CORRECT version for your Note 3 model!!!)

Download ODIN program and unzip.

Download SuperSU.zip file do not unzip

Download and install Samsung USB drivers

Step 4

Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S5 and Hold down, Volume Down, Center Home, and Power buttons together for about 2-3 seconds then let go of all buttons when you see a warning screen  hit Volume Up button to enter Download mode. like below

Step 5

You should now see Download mode. This is the ODIN download mode where you can use ODIN to install custom recovery.  Plug a micro-USB cable from your Galaxy S5 to your computer.

Step 6

Run ODIN program you downloaded earlier in Step 1. (only for Windows or use VMWare on Linux/Mac).

Note: On windows vista/7/8 right click on odin.exe and run as administrator

Step 7

You should see a yellow-highlighted box with a random COM number in ODIN program.  If you do not see it, download and install Samsung USB drivers then unplug/re-plug the micro-USB cable.

Also, you may have to use a USB 3.0 cable supplied with your Galaxy S5, try plugging it in a USB 3.0 port first and if that doesn’t work plug it into a regular USB 2.0 port.  One of them should work.

Step 8

DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE but choose “PDA” in ODIN program then find the .tar file from chainfire root package you downloaded first then hit Start button.

Step 9

Your Note 3 should now reboot. When rebooted, copy the SuperSU zip file you downloaded in Step 1 to your Note 3 internal storage.

Step 10

Hold down, Volume Up, Center Home, and Power buttons together for about 6-7 seconds then let go of all buttons.

Step 11

You should now be in CWM recovery. Choose “Install zip”, then “Install from sdcard”, then choose the SuperSU zip file you downloaded earlier.

Step 12

Reboot and your Galaxy S5 should be rooted.  You can verify by downloading and running Root Checker app from Play Store.

Steps to root

• Open Settings>Security> Check Unknown sources Box
• Download & Install the framroot.apk on your Samsung Galaxy Core I8260/I8262
• Open the app and Pick SuperSu from dropdown list.
• Click On Legolas or Aragorn Button.
• Now sitback for 10mins
• You are now rooted

Note : After taping 

Legolas or Aragorn

 button your device may restart for few time, don’t panic wait until it completes.

Steps to Unroot

• Open SuperSu app
• Goto Setting of supersu  app and scroll down and click on un-root device.

6. a bit of time and patience

Step 1

Extract odin 3.07 and run it. 

Step 2

turn phone off wait for 5 secs hold volume down+home key+power key together to enter download mode and when warning screen comes press volume up key

Step 3

Connect phone to pc and it should be shown in blue box under id:com.

IMPORTANT NOTE: DONT CHECK ANY OPTION and click to uncheck auto reboot

STEP 4

CLick pda and select the downloaded cwm file i.e recovery.tar.md5

STEP 5

hit start and wait till the com port shows a green pass.

Step 6

pull battery and put it back and reboot to recovery using volume up+home+power.

Step 7

Click on update.zip then select apply update from SD card and scroll down to select downloaded superuser file and apply update [Use volume up down for up or down. power button to select an option and home key to go back]

step 8

click reboot and you can enjoy all the benefits of rooting

NOTE :- Never click reboot recovery in advanced option in CWM Recovery it will cause bootloop i.e phone wont start and you will have to factory reset or repeat this process again.

open odin 3 you extracted from prerooted rom folder and connect your phone with data cable

step 5

if your device is SHOWN in id:com box click on pda button and select the file extracted in step 5 its name must be pre_rooted_gt_s7582.tar

Step 6

Click STart and let the magic begin. after you see a green pass button you can unplug device.
