After rolling out Android Oreo to the Nokia 8, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5, HMD Global is now rolling out the Nokia 7 Oreo update in China.
Of the three Nokia phones already installed with Android Oreo, only the Nokia 8 has the stable version. The Nokia 7 Oreo update will be joining the Nokia 6 2017 and Nokia 5 in the beta program, but there is still no mention of when the stable version will be ready.
If you are okay with experiencing minor bugs and sometimes unusual performances, you are free to try the new Nokia 7 Oreo beta on your phone by heading to Settings>System>About phone>System update. While doing this, keep in mind that the update weighs about 1.6GB, which means you’ll need a stable Wi-Fi connection to download the package.
Like any other, the Nokia 7 Oreo update brings a bunch of new features, among them Notification Dots, Autofill, Picture-in-Picture, Google Play Protect and faster boot time. Speaking of boot time, the new Nokia 6 2018 will give you Oreo on first boot, which is a pretty cool gesture from HMD.
Note that the Nokia 7 has never been made official in other markets. This means any model out there is a Chinese variant and thus qualifies for the Oreo beta update.
