Even though MIUI 10 had already been launched, Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A did come preinstalled with an older version of the company’s custom skin. This, obviously, wasn’t received well among fans, but the company is already making amends as fast as it can.
Owners of the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A can now download and install the latest MIUI 10 update on their handsets. This version installs the newest iteration of the MIUI 10 beta, which has version number 8.6.21, however, do note that this is the software’s Chinese ROM. Even so, you still get the option of English language as well, but there are no Google Play apps and services, luckily, you can grab the GApps suite here.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6 and 6A in China and there are reports that the global launch (read India) may have to wait until August. Until then, retailers like GearBest and Geekbuying can be at your service, but you’ll have to make do with the Chinese version. There’s also word that Xiaomi will launch a Pro variant of this family on June 25 alongside the Mi Pad 4, whose details we’ve covered here.
