If you own a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ that is being used on either Verizon Wireless or AT&T, there’s a new update for your device rolling out right now. The update, as expected, brings the latest Android security patch alongside a flurry of unnamed bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Those using the Galaxy S8 on either carrier can expect an update that installs software version G950USQS5CRI4 while the S8+ is receiving an update that installs version G955USQS5CRI4, both of which are based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

AT&T says the updates weigh between 133MB and 138MB for the duo and while Verizon doesn’t mention a thing regarding the weight of the updates, they are likely to be similar to the ones rolling out on AT&T.
These are OTA updates, which means it will take some days before all Galaxy S8 and S8+ units get the download notification. While waiting is more convenient, you can also try rushing the update via your device’s Settings menu.
