Out of nowhere, the first device powered by the next-gen Qualcomm flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8150 aka Snapdragon 855, was unveiled earlier this month. This is interesting given that the American chipmaker hasn’t announced this chipset, but is expected to do so in the coming weeks.

As we all know, Samsung has similar plans with respect to the Exynos 9820, the successor to the Exynos 9810 found inside the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 handsets (some markets, including the U.S. and China, got Snapdragon 845 variants). Apparently, the Korean tech giant will launch this new chipset at an event to be held on November 14th.

This is according to a statement published on the company’s official Weibo account, although nowhere does it mention the said Exynos 9820 chipset. The same post also doesn’t mention a host of other details, but we think the chipset will be based on the new 7nm process, just like the Kirin 980 that powers the flagship Huawei Mate 20 family.

With the world moving towards 5G connectivity, we also expect this chipset to come with support for this technology. To recall, Samsung launched a 5G modem back in August 2018, so this was very much expected.
