Motorola releases Moto Z3 Play Android Pie update in the U.S.

After the Moto G6, Motorola has now published Android 9 Pie release notes for the Moto Z3 Play in the U.S., suggesting that the OS is now ready to begin rolling out.

The Moto Z3 Play becomes the second Motorola handset officially sold in the U.S. to receive the update to Pie, highlighting how poor the Lenovo-owned company has become in this aspect. Still, better late than never.

The update to Android 9 Pie not only tags along the new OS, but also a new Android security patch. As part of Pie, the Z3 Play is getting things like new navigation gestures, adaptive battery and brightness, redesigned settings app, new emoji, a new notification UI, and so on.

With the release notes having just popped up, it may take some time before all Moto Z3 Play units in the country receive the update to Pie. Also, those using the phone in other markets may not necessarily receive the update at the same time as their U.S. counterparts, but it won’t be long before it arrives.
