Motorola announced Android 9 Pie update for the Moto Z3 Play in the U.S. several weeks ago, at least according to what we believed back then. This was after we bumped into release notes for the update, but it turns out this update never went live.
Users of the Moto Z3 Play in Canada and Brazil got the update to Pie weeks ago, something that has been frustrating U.S. users. Questions have been asked of Motorola in regards to this delay and in typical fashion, the company responded saying that an update is in the works although no specific release date is unavailable.
Now, we’ve come across release notes for Android Pie update for the Moto Z3 Play in the U.S., but instead of the February 2019 security patch that appeared in the initial release notes, this time we have the latest April 2019 security patch accompanying Pie.
Considering the update didn’t roll out after the previous release notes appeared online, it’s hard to tell what the latest release notes will yield. Even so, we’d like to believe that after this long wait, the Moto Z3 Play is finally ready to switch to Pie in the U.S.
If you receive the update, feel free to let us know in your comments below.
Meanwhile, Motorola is also expected to add support for Google Call Screen feature to the Z3 Play, even if it’s not part of this latest update. The company is also said to be working on at least four new phones in the Moto One series, all of which should be Android One devices.
