All About Google Android One

with 0 Comment
Android One is the Google dream project. Google wants the next billion on board as soon as possible and its quiet easy if one can successfully market the device in a country with 2nd largest population i.e 1.2billions. Google might have thought about China too but as China Government has banned Google in China nothing can be done.

So What is Android One?

Android One is basically a reference platform just like Microsoft does with Windows Phone and if a handset is Android One certified latest updates are guaranteed just like Nexus and Play Edition devices directly from Google. These is highlight of Android One project faster and timely updates to budget devices which are always neglected by manufacturers.

Moreover Google has partnered with Micromax, Karbonn, Spice, Celkon and Intex which together hold more than 40% of Smartphone market share and first Android One handset will cost just ₹ 6,000(100$) which is very good price to start with.

There are some reports of Google subsidizing the Android One handsets but an added incentive to manufacturer is Google is handling the software department and with mass marketing from Google Android One handset will definitely sell in millions. It seems the next billion are not too far away.

Android One devices will be launched in time for Diwali so better not buy any other budget handset if latest Android and fast performance is what you crave for in a limited budget.
