Sony announces Xperia Z1 Compact at CES 2014

 After a lot of leaks and rumours, Sony has finally announced the mini version of its Xperia Z1 smartphone in the form of Xperia Z1 Compact today at CES. Featuring a 4.3-inch 720 HD display just like its Japanese cousin Z1 f, the new smartphone will go on sale beginning next month i.e. February 2014.Sony Xperia Z1 Compact

Xperia Z1 is a no-compromise feature-packed smartphone with a beautiful yet durable design. With Xperia Z1 Compact, we bring all of these premium features and performance, into a smaller size to give you the ultimate compact smartphone,” said Kunimasa Suzuki, President and CEO, Sony Mobile Communications.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact comes with Android 4.3, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 20.7MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. The phone is also water and dust resistant and packs 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, LTE and the usual connectivity options.

The camera apps suite, which was present in Z1, is also making its way to Z1 Compact.

The pricing details are not available at this point but the phone will be released in a host of colour options like Lime, Pink, Black and White and expect it to be priced above Rs 30000 in India
