LG announces Lifeband touch, Heart Rate Monitor earphones, Fitness tracker

LG has announced two new products that are aimed at fitness buffs. LG’s two new wearables include the Lifeband touch and more interestingly Heart Rate Monitor earphones. The LG Lifeband touch is an interesting mix of both smartwatch features and a fitness band as it brings phone notifications and two way phone controls to your wrist.

The Lifeband works with both iOS and Android, includes accelerometer and altimeter sensors. The band lights up when you lift your hand to look at the display. The entire menu can be navigated using swipes on the OLED display. The band can also interact with your phone and can control music, notifications, volume control and call silencing.

LG has also introduced a cool new fitness related accessory called the Heart Rate Earphone, it does exactly what the name suggests. Built in sensors track your heart rate through your ear and relay them back over bluetooth to the Lifeband. We like how LG is aiming at a fitness band that is smarter than the average wearable health tracking device. The Lifeband Touch will be available in the first half of the year starting in the US.
