Samsung Galaxy Alpha Official isn't the Uber Premium S5

with 0 Comment

Samsung Galaxy Alpha was hoped as an ultimate flagship which will do wonders for Samsung but as of now it failed to live up to the expectations. Its specification put it in a category between High End and Mid Range devices.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha features similar design language as Samsung Galaxy S5 with the dotted back and same camera placement with flash, the only major difference in design is its side frame which is now completely metal with champered edges like on iPhone 5/5S, Canvas 4 and recently unveiled Mi4.

It has an amazing 4.7" 720p SuperAMOLED touchscreen, Octa-core Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset (1.8GHz x 4 & 1.4GHz x 4) processor and 2 GB RAM. It comes with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with same Touchwiz version as seen on Samsung Galaxy S5.

The camera is 12-megapixels, f/2.2 auto-focus snapper along with similar LED flash as seen on S5. These phone is capable of 4k video recording and front camera is 2.1 megapixels. In terms of connectivity it features Dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, standard microUSB 2.0 port, GPS/GLONASS receiver, 3.5mm audio jack.

It has 32-GB of internal storage and no micro-sd card slot. It also features Heart Rate Sensor and Fingerprint Sensor and is just 115 grams in weight. The battery is 1860 mAh which is disappointing as it won't get you through a day on heavy usage.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha is decent smartphone though it has its limitation like smaller battery. It can only succeed if priced sensibly and we will need to wait for pricing details as they are yet to be disclosed. However if priced under ₹ 30,000 these phone may succeed. More than that it won't be worthy.
