with 0 Comment

The OnePlus 5 has leaked in a number of photos showing dual cameras and a metal unibody, and the company has itself confirmed the presence of the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 within the handset and the company’s mobile photography partnership with DxOMark. Now, though, we finally have a confirmation from the manufacturer of the OnePlus 5 launch event.

OnePlus has now confirmed at the OnePlus India site via a launch page that it will launch the OnePlus 5 in a special event at 12 noon EDT on June 20th. OnePlus has also confirmed on the same page that the company will bring the launch event to New York’s Meatpacking District at 7pm the same day, with special guests MKBHD (Marquees Brownlee) and OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei (Twitter handle @getpeid).

The OnePlus 5 launch date, set for June 20th, is just a few days behind the rumored release date of June 15th.

The OnePlus 5 is said to have, in addition to the dual rear cameras and Snapdragon 835 SoC, a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, UFS 2.1 flash storage, arrive in four gradient colors, and come with Android Nougat out of the box.

Questions still remain as to the price of this upcoming beast, though, with some isolated rumors stating the device could be priced as high as $600 USD. No word on this yet, but we’ll give more details as they become available.
