Google billboard suggests Pixel 2 launch on October 4

Google billboardA picture of a billboard published online seems to suggest that Google will be hosting its phone-specific launch event on October 4.

According to Droid Life, Google has put up billboards in Boston in the United States, which read – ‘Ask more of your phone’ – with the Google’s ‘G’ logo and October 4 date. Unless Google is planning to phone-specific local event in Boston, this is a clear indicator of the fact that the search giant will hold its much anticipated October hardware event on the Fourth.

The previously rumoured date of October 5 was leaked by @evleaks, but part of his reveal about Snapdragon 836 has already been deemed incorrect, now it seem the launch date was also false.

Google is yet to officially send out the invites for the event, so we can’t be fully certain, but a public billboard is a pretty good indicator.

To remind you, at this October hardware event, Google is expected to showcase Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, new Chromebook Pixel and a smaller Google Home device.

In related news, if there was any doubt about who was manufacturing the Pixel 2 XL smartphone, a FCC listing has confirmed that it is indeed LG who is making the phone.
