Motorola’s Moto G series is popular thanks to the value for money continues to offer over the years and this seems set to pick up from last year with the upcoming Moto G7.

Details of the Moto G7 have been flying around for weeks now, but this is the first time we are actually coming across the device’s benchmark courtesy of Geekbench.

As usual, the listing gives us a clue of the specs to expect and on the list is the tried and proven Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset mated with 3GB of RAM. The benchmark doesn’t mention the storage, but this variant should be allied to 32GB of expandable internal memory.

The benchmark also reveals the software, although it’s no surprise that the Moto G7 will be powered by Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Being the powerful midrange chipset it is, the benchmark scores are impressive. The single-core test managed a score of 1260 and things got better in the multi-core test with a result of 4759.

Since this is a pre-production unit running on probably what is incomplete software, things might get much better once the device is fully optimized. But then again, benchmark scores may mean little compared to real-world performance, so we will reserve our judgment until the phone comes out.

Speaking of which, the Moto G7 is likely to be unveiled at the MWC 2019 next month, although there are no major guarantees.
