We already knew a great deal of info about the Moto G7 line of devices, but it seems someone at Motorola Brazil was too excited and probably unhappy with the plenty of misinformation about the devices’ specs out there.
To fix things, one would think, whoever manages the website published the entire specs and photos of all four Moto G7 variants, but of course, these have already been taken down as of this writing.
As always, hawkeyed guys, this time at CNET, were quick to spot the info and got everything, including the photos, before Motorola Brazil took them down. And we have these details for you as well.
Previously leaked photos were spot on
Looking at the leaked photos, it appears that recently leaked press renders were spot on. However, what many, including us, have been getting wrong are the specs of the phones, more so the processor.
Instead of the much-rumored Snapdragon 660, the Moto G7 Plus will be powered by a Snapdragon 636 allied to at least 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. There is a dual 16MP + 5MP camera on the back and a 12MP lens for selfies. There is no 3500mAh battery as earlier thought, in fact, you get a smaller 3000mAh unit compared to the 3200mAh unit in the Moto G6 Plus.
The display size is 6.24 inches with a 1080p resolution and a waterdrop-style notch, the same size and design as the standard Moto G7, but the latter gets a weaker Snapdragon 632, drops the main 16MP lens in favor of a 12MP unit and the selfie camera further drops to an 8MP unit. There is likely to be a 3/32GB variant to accompany the confirmed 4/64GB model.
As for the Moto G7 Play and G7 Power, the same Snapdragon 632 chipset is at play, but the display sizes vary slightly, where the former has a 5.7-inch panel compared to the 6.2-inch panel on the Power variant. Still, you get the same HD+ resolution on the duo.
The rear camera is a 13MP unit on the Play and a 12MP unit on the Power, but they share the same 8MP unit for selfies. In terms of memory, the Play will reportedly get a base model of 2GB RAM and 32GB storage whereas the Power model has been listed with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. At this point in time, we don’t know whether it will get more variants.
Where the real difference comes is the battery capacity. While the Moto G7 Play keeps the same 3000mAh unit as the other two G7 variants, the Moto G7 Power has a massive 5000mAh unit. This means that despite having a smaller display screen than the standard G7 and G7 Plus, the Power variant is the biggest in size standing at 159.4mm and the heaviest at 193 grams.
