Samsung has sharpened the act to update its smartphone’s software to the latest. While the release switch fo the global models remains in Samsung’s hands, that’s not so when it comes to updates for carrier models.
Carriers do their own tests and stuff before releasing the update, and as such the release date differs for the carrier and unlocked models. That’s the case with the Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 9 too, especially those sold at Optus Australia where it lies with the carrier to test and release the update build given to them by an OEM, in this case, Samsung.
Today, Optus Australia gave us some indication about the release date of the Android Pie update for a few notable flagships of the year 2018: the Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus, and Galaxy Note 9.
As we know the Android Pie update is still awaited for the S9 and Note 8 phones in Australia, it seems the wait is going to be over soon as Optus, the largest telecom carrier in the country, is likely to seed the update to the above-mentioned devices as early as next week.
