It’s raining Android security updates at AT&T. The carrier is pushing new security patches to multiple devices that include the 2016 Galaxy S7 trio, the LG K20, and Motorola Moto Z2 Force, but the patch level varies.
While some are receiving the latest security patch for February 2019, others are receiving an update with January 2019 security patches. If you are using any of Samsung Galaxy S7 Active or LG K20, the former camp belongs to you. As for those using the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Moto Z2 Force, the latter camp is yours.
Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are receiving an update with build number CSA3 that not only installs a new security patch but also adds advanced messaging to the duo. As for the S7 Active, the version rolling out has build number CSB1.
The LG K20 and Moto Z2 Force, on the other hand, are receiving firmware versions M25520e and OCXS27.109-47-20, respectively.
Apart from the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge updates that weigh in the regions of 400MB, the other updates are below 100MB in size, with the S7 Active receiving the lightest at 60.7MB.
All of these updates are airborne and as usual with such updates, it may take several days before all units receive the download notification, so be patient as you wait for the OTA notification to arrive.
