AT&T LG V10 gets new update H90021v that brings Wi-Fi calling

lg v10 Wi-Fi calling update

LG V10 over at AT&T is receiving a new update today, one that enables Wi-Fi calling on the device. The update comes with software version H90021v, and is updated with March security level patch — which is old, as we are in August and this is a monthly thing.

There is nothing else part of the changelog, but the update still comes pretty hefty at 368 MB. Maybe AT&T and LG have fixed some bugs and issues here and there, but they don’t think those are worth becoming part of the changelog.

To update, look for the system updates section under Settings. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi network if you want to save your mobile data.

Anyway, as the device is already on Marshmallow since H90020j update, it still runs on Android 6.0.

If you are wondering when the big update, the Android 7.0 Nougat, would release for your V10 over at AT&T, well don’t have high hopes in this regard. Seriously!

It took LG and AT&T good length of time to update V10 to Marshmallow — the update was released on April 21, when the same update is out for Nexus devices since October 5, that’s a delay of whopping 199 days (disgraceful?). And you know what, the Android 7.0 update is out for Nexus devices already, and you can even download Nougat OTA for your Nexus device now.

So, even though it’s a given that V10’s successor in V20 is release with Nougat pre-installed — which is better than V10 as it wasn’t packing in Marshmallow upon launch — and thus chances of V10’s own Nougat update become brighter, but we would still hold out for Q1 release at AT&T, because it’s AT&T. The international V10 could get Android Nougat before the end of 2016, though, and only if that happens, we would hold out for Feb-March release for AT&T LG V10.
